Nature Sounds

Anyone who sleeps with white noise is likely to tell you they can’t fall asleep without it. And when you count up all the apps and white noise machines on the market, it may seem like you’ve stumbled upon the holy grail of sleeping. White noise devices are available from numerous manufacturers in many forms, for a variety of different uses, including audio testing, sound masking, sleep -aid, and power-napping Sleep-aid and nap machine products may also produce other soothing sounds, such as music, rain, wind, highway traffic and ocean waves mixed with—or modulated by—white noise.
I’m one of those people who falls asleep a little easier if there’s quiet, steady noise around me. Cracking a window open isn’t really an option in February here in New York, so typically I just turn on a small fan in my room to get that fix of white noise.

What the popularity of white noise, and its cousins pink and brown and violet noise, could do is make listeners more aware of what it is exactly they’re listening dormir to. Play with the scroll bars on any noise on Pigeon’s myNoise site and it becomes clear pretty quickly how many different ways the same rain can sound.

The sound of the sea or calming acoustic music tend to be the go-to sounds for adults when we want to relax, but when it comes to babies it’s actually white noise sounds that are more effective in creating a soothing environment, as it resembles the kind of sounds they heard in the womb.
If you really like blue noise, you’ll probably have to fork out more change for a higher-end device that allows you to mix and customize sounds at different frequencies, like the Sound Oasis S-5000 Deluxe Sleep Sound Therapy System There is, however, an Android app that claims to be the only app dedicated to just blue noise and White Noise for iOS has a blue noise track.

Ocean waves, rainforest animals, thunderstorms, and even the Chinese giant salamander can all be pleasant sounds to fall asleep to. Natural noises are less likely to annoy us than some other sounds because they usually include fluctuations in amplitude and frequency.
So, what we can deduce from this, is that white noise does not necessarily extinguish stressful and frustrating cacophony in your home or office; but it DOES muffle them, which affords you just a little bit more peace and relaxation than you would otherwise enjoy.
A garden water fountain accomplishes this through making what is called “white noise,” a multi-frequency sound wave that can help drown out other sounds you do not want to hear, such as: (neighbors, tv in the next room, dogs barking, and or a baby crying).

Initially It helps with me falling sleep because it deactivates my hyper active brain, but in the morning I always have a tinnitus. However, I will say that I couldn’t continue to sleep peacefully without the sound machine as part of my nighttime routine. If you’re traveling and don’t want to lug a white noise machine with you, you can also install the White Noise app on your phone.
Even if the machine does not fully mask the unwanted noise, the sound it produces at least gives a person a more soothing sound to focus on, which itself can produce more relaxation. It has a library of calming sounds, including white noise, and guided meditations.

Each sound covers a range of unwanted noises. At times the white noise speakers around me sounded very loud, I’ve developed headaches overnight, a pressure sensation in both my ears, tingling and several other effects that I can only relate to the technology being used.
